Aztec Steel is a 5th generation family owned steel service center located in Elyria, Ohio serving the Cleveland and Northeast, Ohio area.

HISTORY

Tired of rolling cigars in Cleveland and suffering from coal dust in the air, Simon Altfeld sought relief in the country when he moved to Elyria in 1883. Over 135 years ago, Simon Altfeld started a scrap iron business with a horse and wagon in Elyria, Ohio.  Later two of Simon's sons expanded the business into the Elyria Belting & Machinery Company.

Today this company is known as the EBM Group and its subsidiary is Aztec Steel Corp.

Aztec Steel is currently managed by Robin Altfeld Kaufman. Robin's daughter Mallory recently joined the company as the 5th generation. The company employs 21 people and has been in its current location for over 30 years.
